Borated polyethylene is a product commonly used in the medical field to shield neutrons.
Borated polyethylene is perfect for shielding neutrons for applications such as cargo screening, border protection and nuclear submarines. The borated polyethylene sheet contains 5% by weight boron and 30% by weight boron.

Borated Polyethylene Applications

Borated polyethylene meets all applicable particle accelerators for industrial use, shielding applications, medical applications (on cancer treatment), vaults and linear doors. Borated polyethylene is an effective shield in all security areas such as seaports, airports, border protection and other applications requiring thermal neutron attenuation.
